Steeldeck Rentals elevates H&M Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection Fashion Show at Copper Box Arena
Show-stopping event at Copper Box Arena
Steeldeck Rentals was thrilled to be appointed as a key supplier for one of the fashion industry’s most anticipated events: H&M’s Autumn/Winter 2024 Collection showcase. Held at London’s expansive Copper Box Arena, the monumental fashion show featured electrifying performances by Charli XCX and Jamie xx, drawing 3,000 guests for a night of style, music, and innovation.
Bespoke staircases for a unique venue layout
In collaboration with renowned event consultants Kennedy, who execute large-scale productions for global brands, Steeldeck Rentals was entrusted with designing and installing 30 custom staircases that wound through the 2,712 sq.ft. arena. These staircases were strategically staggered to create the illusion of multiple levels, providing unique access routes for the audience throughout the venue. This design was not just an aesthetic choice but an essential part of ensuring smooth audience movement and full access to every corner of the space.
Catwalk built for style and functionality
We constructed a 10-metre-long platform at a height of 1 metre that served as the main stage catwalk to showcase H&M’s latest collection. This extended runway added a dynamic element to the event, seamlessly blending functionality with fashion.
Enhancing audience comfort with custom seating solutions
In addition, we provided dry hire decking, which was utilised for over 40 seating decks, which were arranged in a banquette style with the addition of bespoke cushion produced by Kennedy which adorned our Steeldeck, enhancing both comfort and the style of the show for the audience experience.
VIP Spaces: exclusivity in design
We designed and installed our Steeldeck to fit into the corners of a VIP room for high-profile guests, complete with tiered bleachers that Kennedy later customised with red carpet, adding an extra touch of exclusivity.
Attention to detail: Customising for the event’s aesthetic
As with all of our projects, attention to detail was paramount. Kennedy requested that our signature Steeldeck corner posts, typically marked in orange to reflect our brand, be painted black to align with the event’s industrial theme and H&Ms colour palette. We were more than happy to oblige Kenndey to complete this task, ensuring that every aspect of our contribution was in harmony with the event’s overall aesthetic.
Adapting to evolving requirements
Given the scale of the event, the planning and preparation required significant lead time. The brief evolved as the project progressed, and we adapted swiftly to new requirements working almost daily with the Kennedy Projects team. Even during the installation, the Kennedy team requested additional kit, such as accessible ramps, which we were able to supply and install promptly during the build.
Collaborative execution for a seamless build
The entire build process, in collaboration with multiple suppliers including DSA and Event Engineering, who expertly clad our staircases and finished the handrail element, took three and half weeks to complete before the event went live, prior to which many more weeks of preparation. Dismantling the entire event took an additional two weeks. Steeldeck Rentals’ ability to work seamlessly with other suppliers ensured that the project was delivered on time and met the highest standards.
Delivering excellence and client satisfaction
Kennedy and H&M were thrilled with the end result, which perfectly captured the industrial-chic vibe while delivering a flawless guest experience. Steeldeck Rentals once again proved its expertise in creating innovative, large-scale event solutions that not only meet but exceed client expectations.
