Project Manager (London)

08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work required.
Dependant on experience. £44,000 to £48,000 pa including overtime.
25 days per year plus public holidays.

Job Summary and Responsibilities
We currently have an available position for a full-time Project Manager to join our London team. The role is integral to the business, with primary responsibilities to manage client relationships and oversee the delivery of safe and accurate structures, stages, and seating in an efficient, professional, and friendly manner.

As the initial point of contact for both new and established clients, you will play a crucial role in guiding them through the entire hiring process, from initial design phase to effective and successful delivery. Your daily responsibilities will involve close collaboration with the Warehouse and Operations teams, working alongside the Projects and Management teams. Our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and exceeding client expectations has earned us a reputation that consistently surpasses customer satisfaction. Leveraging your expertise, your role will involve collaborating with a diverse client base to ensure the success of their events.

This role would be ideal for an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong understanding of current Health and Safety regulations, someone who is well-organised and can skilfully represent the business to potential clients. Highly desirable qualities include experience in events and structures, as well as a demonstrating a proven leadership skill. Effective communication with site crew, clients, and colleagues is crucial. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Managing enquiries from new and existing clients.
  • Planning and designing structures to client requirements whilst in keeping with best practice and current available stock levels.
  • Completion of site surveys.
  • Calculation of quotes for equipment hire transport and staffing.
  • Liaise with Operations, Warehouse, Crew and Drivers to ensure projects are delivered effectively, sustainably, safely and on schedule.
  • Compiling Risk Assessment and Method Statements.
  • Manage team of on-site crew, scheduling workload and ensuring their welfare alongside Health and Safety compliance under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Excellent client care skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well as part of a team.
  • A good communicator.
  • Adaptable and able to work well under pressure and deal with last minute changes.
  • Able to travel and be away from home due to the nature of the work.
  • Able to plan, prioritise a varied workload, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of Steeldeck staging, temporary demountable structures, and the events industry
  • Knowledge of Technical Standards for Places of Entertainment.
  • Knowledge of IStructE guide to Temporary Demountable Structures.
  • The ideal candidate would have experience working in a busy office with the ability to handle multiple enquiries at one time.
  • Use of specialist software including AutoCAD and Current RMS.
  • Full UK Driving licence an advantage.

    Build Crew and Event Scaffolders
    • To work alongside our fulltime Project Managers and Build Crew to assist with the safe installation and dismantling of staging scaffolding structures and tiered seating
    • Supporting in safe loading and unloading transport vehicles both at our warehouse and on site
    • Assist in preparing kit lists ready to be transported to site
    • Occasional stock maintenance and checks alongside our warehouse team
    • Assisting with deliveries and collections of our rental kit

    Experience

    • A proven level of experience in building bespoke stage structures
    • The ability to interpret design drawings and staging layouts
    • An understating of Health Safety and safe working practices
    • Event scaffolders a Part 2 CISRS qualification is required
    • Own transport preferable along with a full clean driving licence

    HGV Drivers
    • Working alongside our warehouse and build teams to transport our kit to and from site
    • Deliveries and collections from our South Bermondsey warehouse across London and further afield in the UK only
    • Core contract hours are Monday to Friday with the expectation and flexibility to work evenings and weekends
    • Enhanced pay rates for night work and Sundays
    • Highly competitive pay rates based on experience

    Experience

    • Class 1 or Class 2 CPC qualified HGV drivers with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
    • You will need to be able to demonstrate full CPC training hours and with valid CPC Tachograph card
    • Full clean driving licence
