The Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT) held its 2024 awards ceremony on 6 December at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London. The event brings together leading professionals from the event and theatre industries to celebrate exceptional achievements, innovative products, and individuals who have made an impact in the sector.
We are thrilled to announce that Philip Parsons, CEO of Steeldeck Industries, received the esteemed Fellow of the Association award. This accolade is a tribute to his significant and long-standing contributions to the technical aspects in the arts and theatre industry.
Philip Parsons is the visionary behind the original Steeldeck® platform, which he created in 1985. As the founder of Steeldeck Industries, he revolutionised the staging industry with a product renowned for its unparalleled strength and durability. Over the years, Steeldeck has become synonymous with temporary staging and seating solutions, setting the gold standard for the events and entertainment industries. Philip expanded the company into a successful stage and seating rental business, now operating in London, Manchester, Los Angeles, and New York.
