Nothing keeps the mind focused more than building around beautiful and highly valuable yachts! We built this series of walkways and platforms for Boatlife Live 2022 at the NEC in Birmingham. These enabled visitors to view and climb aboard the variety of boats on display at the show. We worked closely with our client and the boat manufacturers to provide a bespoke solution for each model. They needed to be built to a very tight schedule and around all of the boat movements in the hall – no mean feat!

"Katie and the team did an excellent job for us.  We always knew that building so many boat platforms in such a short period of time would be a challenge but it all went very well and we even had time to deal with a couple of unforeseen issues that exhibitors had and help them out with their boat access.  I look forward to working with Steeldeck again on next years show which is likely to be even bigger and have more boats."
Daniel Taylor, Boatlife Events

A stunning backdrop in Trafalgar Square for the annual Wintershall  performance of the Passion of Christ this Easter! Great to be back working with their team to build the 4’ high stage, which was surrounded with black casement valance, open guardrails at the back and 3 points of access to the sides and front.

Wedding goals! We built this 22.5 x 36.5m structure, starting at 200mm high and ending at 5.2m high, in a private residence. It accommodated a glass marquee that weighed 38 tonnes as well as guests, production, catering and everything needed to create the perfect day for a happy couple.

The VIP area at Parklife Festival! We built a small stage, dance podiums and bleacher-style seating areas for the festival revellers. We also supplied all production risers across 10 stages.

Back in early 2020, Forest School in Walthamstow asked us to recreate the curve of a circus' seating auditorium for their production of Barnum, the musical. It was a really interesting design and build project to work on, and we achieved the illusion of a smooth curve by using a variety of decks and infills. The structure was made up of 11 tiers and 292 of our comfortable tip-up seats. We also built the structures you can see on the stage in the photos. A wonderful setting for young performers to cut their teeth on!

"Steeldeck were fantastic on Barnum. It was great to work with both sides of the company, the seating team and the hires team. The seating team designed and installed the temporary seating bank and the hires team advised and supplied the stage which we built. Good amount of support in preproduction meant the stage and seating all went in on time and on budget. As a Production Manager I couldn’t ask for more. There is a reason Steeldeck are the go-to company for event staging."

Chris Tindall, Technical Manager at Forest School

A beautiful location for a build! This was our large tiered platform for Henley Festival. For those of you who love the numbers: - First tier - 39m x 4.8m at 1.2m high (4ft) - Second tier - 39m x 4.8m at 1.8m (6ft) - Third tier - 2m high (79”) We added 800mm balustrade to the front of the two first tiers, 1100mm balustrade to the sides and back, with 4 x 4ft treads for access from ground to first level, and 5 x 2ft treads from the first to second level. Finished off with a slick black casement!

We were commissioned by Otherplace Brighton to build a series of platforms for The Warren Festival site, including bar areas and a hexagonal theatre venue with audience standing area and stage. We enjoyed a few days in the sunshine in Brighton with the Otherplace team and built structures to create the main performance space, a hexagon with 6 equal 12m sides, an area for The Offshore Cove Bar which houses a tilted shipping container with an aeroplane on top among other spaces.

Our stage platform at Burgess Hill Girls School in Sussex for their production of 'Chicago'. The stage was built to a height of 7', secured with steel bracing. The steps were designed to include a mix of 4' and 3' steel treads, perfect for making a grand entrance. Working with Barnes Audio.

"As Production Manager, whenever given a brief by a discerning client, the first thought, is always how do i deliver their idea from Page to Stage, within budget, reliably, safely, and of course to the best quality available. This is the second time I have used the Rental Arm of Steeldeck, and just as before, the level of service has been superb. From Neil, the Project manager, to the supplied crew for the load in and load out, to the standard and speed of the build, it has been a superb experience, that has taken the stress out of that part of the build in a tight schedule for this project. They say a good manager puts the best people in the right places, and that is exactly what i did by appointing Steeldeck as our scenic partner."

Dan Barnes - Barnes Audio

A stage riser being used at The Bloomsbury Theatre for Student Union UCL's performance of Rhapsody. Two tiers fitted with steps to the side and finished with black wooden fascia at the front.

"It was great to have the hire arrive and get picked up on time. Also the hire was delivered correctly and deck was in good condition. John was also absolutely amazing to work with as he was very responsive and carried out work extremely quickly. His email replies and quote updates were really quick, don't think anybody else in the hire industry can do better."

Andrey Ten - Production Manager, Rhapsody 2020

Here is our three tiered dining terrace built from around 300 deck at Brixton Academy for the NME Awards. It followed the angular shape of the room to maximise the dining area and maintain the fire lanes around the outside. 800mm guardrail was used to the front for improved sightlines and 1100mm to the back and sides. We also created a bridge up and over the “mosh pit” for those coming from the audience who had won awards. Lastly, we supplied all the rolling risers for the bands that were playing that night. Working with Broadwick Agency

"I’d just like to thank you for all of your hard work on the NME Awards, your attention to detail, flexibility and patience on-site in bringing everything together was top end and much appreciated team wide.
Steeldeck simply delivered a first class service, please send on my thanks to all involved, very much looking forward to working with you again soon."

Mark Connolly - Technical Director, Broadwick Agency

We work in theatres across the country, building stage extensions to increase performance area or to help with load-ins and load-outs, providing additional seating, or infilling them to create venues for awards dinners and corporate events. For this project, we built several camera platforms over the house seats at The Lowry so that filming could take place for a production of 'The Grinch' for Totally Theatre Productions.

In October we installed a seating structure for the programme’s Casus Circus Production of DNA at Sirius West Academy, one of many events in a dazzling line-up of art, theatre, music and dance experiences the company organised in 2019.

The team built a 12 row structure, using our 7” incremental rise system to 7’ high and added in 2 more rows of our flat floor seating onto the front to seat 270 people. The client decided to opt for an aisle at either side of the seats, which we finished in black hard fascia and aluminium nosing.

“In my experiences of working with Steeldeck, Katie and the team consistently maintain professionalism, quality and a friendly, approachable ethic. Katie is always helpful, mindful in every aspect, and offers her advice and assistance wherever possible. I would certainly trust and rely on Steeldeck to work with collaboratively in future and provide their high standard of work.”

Carys Taverner - Production Manager, Back To Ours

After a 10-year break, Liverpool F.C. hosted a summer of concerts at Anfield. We were contracted by Star Live to build a pitch-long Steeldeck infill, with integrated walkways to each vomitory. We added a bespoke hinged ramp section, designed by Star Live, to seamlessly transfer the crowds from the Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand onto the pitch. We also provided bespoke infills and walkways into the Main Stand, allowing the free flow of audience.

"It’s been great to work alongside Katie and her team, the attention to detail throughout the planning phase provided great reassurance that we had the best possible partner for delivery of this unique project. We look forward to working with her and the Steeldeck team in the future.”

Peter Holdich - Head of Structures, Star Events Ltd

We worked closely with Netball World Cup 2019 and ACC Liverpool to design and deliver a tiered seating structure with 672 tip-up seats at The M&S Bank Arena for the duration of the World Cup. We also built a bespoke media platform for the press and commentators over an existing vomitory, and used, for the first time, a transparent polycarbonate guardrail extension on the front row to preserve sightlines.

"I only have positive feedback for the service provided by Steeldeck. From the offset, which was well over a year ago, Katie has been nothing but helpful. There have been lots of changes over the months and Katie has been fully flexible in changing the designs and going out of her way to come to site on numerous occasions to meet with myself and the client to discuss the works. The end product looked great, and in total keeping with this high profile event."

Michelle Cruise - Event Manager at ACCL

Watch paper dragons come to life on a Steeldeck stage in this video from the Japan Matsuri festival in Trafalgar Square. The time-lapse shows the team building the 5ft high stage using 26 of our decks for clients Star Group Live and Audience London

"We’ve been working with Steeldeck for many years and they never fail to deliver to a very high standard every time. They are fantastic suppliers for Star Live as they understand the importance of supplying to high traffic and/or historic iconic sites and manage the additional pressures this brings to a project."

Kaeli Burbidge - Marketing Manager, Star Group Live

It was a pleasure to be back at the Manchester International Festival! We designed and installed 10 structures for various productions taking place over the 3-week event - scroll through the pictures on the right to see some of the different jobs we worked on. These included the staging for Yoko Ono’s ‘Bells For Peace’, tiered standing room for the audience watching Idris Elba and Kwame Kwei-Armah’s ‘Tree’, and bespoke tiered seating in the Grade I listed St Augustine’s Church for Studio Orka’s ‘Tuesday’. The latter was designed to span the organ and pulpit, while maintaining good sight lines for the audience and in keeping with the weight load limits in the church. We can’t wait for what might be in store at the next Manchester International Festival in 2021!

"Steeldeck once again did a brilliant job on MIF in not only supplying and installing some excellent seating, staging and various other structural elements across this year’s festival, but it is also a delight to have Katie and the team’s input on site visits to discuss what is and isn’t possible within the very tight confines of some quite extraordinary buildings. The accurate CAD drawings make working through things a lot easier in the planning stage. We look forward to working with them on future events.”

Jack Thompson - Technical Director, Manchester International Festival

LoveWorld TV is a television station dedicated to producing faith-based programs. At the beginning of March we headed over to their studio in Royal Docks, East London to build this 6 tiered seating stand made up of 52 upholstered seats.

"Thank you Steeldeck for a professional service. They were available, flexible & efficient with our requests. Because of the short notice on our end, there was a lot of back & forth, changing this and that, but they remained highly professional, patient and helpful throughout our communication  I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them and would definitely book them again."

 Rama - LoveWorld Ltd

Earlier this year we visited South Hampstead High School in North-West London to build this tiered seating block in their sports hall. The structure was made up of 8 tiers rising up incrementally to 8’ and held 206 of our upholstered tip up seats. These types of auditorium are very quick for us to assemble and are perfect for school theatre productions, speech days and any other end-of-term event. We’re very pleased to have worked in schools across the country and look forward to visiting many more in the future.

"I was very happy with the service Steeldeck offered to us at South Hampstead High School. The seats were extremely comfortable to sit on, for over 2 hours. The seating also looked very professional and pleasing to the eye. It suited our Gym and Dance Show very well, as it resembled a theatre like experience and matched our lighting tech.”

Laura Scahill - Head of Dance, South Hampstead High School

Watch our stage go up at Leeds International Festival in this great little timelapse. Our fantastic Manchester team built the 400 sqm platform to hold this large inflatable cube.

“Great to work with Steeldeck again on another bespoke staging solution; executed seamlessly, on time and within budget. Katie Mountain and her team quite literally provided the foundation of what was a hugely successful run of events. It’s crucial to have a trusted working relationship and engage expert contractors early on in any project. Steeldeck provided our client with the level of reassurance needed and in truth, made life easier from initial drawings, structural calcs, safety docs etc. through to install and derig. Even better now there is a Northern contingent!”

Ben Eddie - Live Event Production Specialist

The London Classic Car Show is the must-attend event for any discerning classic car owner, collector, expert or enthusiast and this February we were delighted to be asked in to work on the show by Brand Events, the company behind the globally successful Top Gear Live show. We built 3 grandstands inside ExCel London making up a total of 571 seats around the exhibition area.

“The Steeldeck team did an incredible job at the London Classic Car Show, and the quality of the structures was everything I wanted for a high end finish and indoor environment. The build was smooth, well managed and on schedule, Duncan, our project manager, was always contactable, friendly and helpful throughout the planning and onsite.”

Lisa Knipe - Operations Manager at Brand Events

Delicious London is a dynamic event management and wedding planning service, specialising in wonderfully creative experiences and events. In January we returned to Old Billingsgate Market, originally Billingsgate Fish Market, to work alongside the company and build these 3 structures. One stage at 9', another at 3' with rolling risers on top and finally a 3 tiered viewing platform.

"Excellent Service”

Lauren Wyllie - Creative Director at Delicious London

In December our Manchester team went over to Liverpool and the Alder Hey Children's Hospital to put together this small drum riser for a BBC CBeebies Presentation. The stage was surrounded with black casement valance and finished with black carpet on top. I don't think we've ever had such a colourful and fun looking structure.

"Steeldeck were great from start to finish on our recent OB for CBeebies and CBBC, we needed a drum riser for a band and they came and installed and de-rigged for us on time and efficiently. They were reasonably priced and great customer service."

Abi Hynes - Art Director at CBeebies and CBBC Presentation

From 2nd October to the 30th December the Natural History Museum is hosting a very special new play by David Norton called 'The Wider Earth'. It tells the story of Charles Darwin, aged 22, embarking on an adventure of a lifetime on HMS Beagle, setting sail to the far side of the world. Steeldeck put together a purpose built tiered seating structure within the museum made up of 357 of our upholstered tip up seats for the show. We wish it continued success throughout its run at such a prestigious and well suited venue.

“Steeldeck have been a total pleasure to work with on this job. From start to finish the service we got was first class and they were able to build the seating structure to perfectly match our requirements. We look forward to working with them again. ”

Ian Moore - Production Manager at Natural History Museum

The beginning of September saw our two teams joining forces to build this seating structure at Mayfield Manchester. It was for Manchester International Festival, which commissions new work by artists from across the world and takes place every two years across the city. The structure consisted of 135 steeldeck platforms over 18 tiers from 7" to 14', had two large staircases at the rear and was built around the building’s structural columns. The surrounds were then finished with black casement to give it a tidy appearance.

"Steeldeck have been fantastic, working with us to deliver the required design whilst dealing with the complexities of the site and reducing the quantity of custom elements needed to deliver the project. Having worked with both the Northern & Southern branches of steeldeck I can recommend the both.”

Paul Moore - Senior Production Manager

Earlier this month we were invited to Rochdale Town Hall in Manchester to build this 4 tiered seating structure for the Royal Exchange Theatre made up of 21 8' x 4' Steeldeck platforms. The Victorian-era, Grade I listed hall is stunning and it was a pleasure to work inside of.

"Thanks for being so efficient, quick and professional today."

Richard Delight - Head of Technical at Royal Exchange

British Summer Time is a series of major rock and pop concerts drawing thousands of music fans to Hyde Park. This year we were there to work alongside Star Events and build various stages and platforms across the sun soaked site.

And thanks so much to In The Bag Pro for the fantastic photos. (

"We love working with Steeldeck. Professional, versatile, adaptable and always dependable."

Tez Sheals-Barrett - Star Events Ltd

At the end of June Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra presented two 20th-century stereophonic masterpieces in the epic space of the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern. We were thrilled to come in and build 4 different stages at short notice for the event.

“Thank you for coming to our rescue last week – we really couldn’t have done this without you! The project came to life by having the stages and I’m so grateful to you both, and to all your colleagues, for pulling out all the stops to make this work at such short notice!”

Tim Davy - Tours & Projects Manager at London Symphony Orchestra

Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead is a vast converted mill hosting temporary shows by contemporary artists. Our Manchester team travelled up to build this 4 tiered structure there for an exhibition by Turner prize nominee, Phil Collins.

“Katie was most excellent.  She provided excellent service throughout and we are extremely pleased with the staging that was installed by her and her team.  We really appreciated the deal she gave us on the cost of the hire and helped us realise our ambitions.”

Tom Newell - Technical Manager

The first ever UFC event in Liverpool took place on May 27th. Local star, Darren Till headlined and won his very first UFC event in front of thousands of home fans at Echo Arena Liverpool. We were there before to build this tiered seating stand made up of 576 seats.

"We worked with Steeldeck on the UFC Liverpool event and it was as seamless and professional as one could hope. From design to execution, the Steeldeck project manager was responsive and utterly competent, their documentation and engineering support was perfect and the finished product, arriving on time and on schedule, was top notch. I’d be more than happy to work with Steeldeck in the future."

Ben Vignola - Concom Inc.

Here was one of the many jobs we did over in Windsor during Royal Wedding week. The stage was for the broadcasting team over at Channel 9 Australia. We used open guardrails so as to improve the sight lines for the cameras.

"Steeldeck was an absolute pleasure to deal with – from concept to build, everything ran smoothly and on-time. Their project manager Duncan was on the ball and on build day, the crew had our custom deck set-up on time and without any problems. Communication was fantastic and the team kept me informed at all times about how they were going and how long until the build was completed. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you!"

Matt Bachl - Channel 9 Australia

In late April team Manchester travelled all the way to the Emerald Isle and the beautiful ballroom of The Powerscourt Hotel in County Wicklow to build these 3 tiered seating structures for Production Bureau. They were finished with carpet, fascia, nosing and Molton to the outside edges. Event Services Ireland and Irish Lift Trucks were a huge help on the day!

“Even with challenging timescales Katie and the Steeldeck team made this project super easy! Good communication throughout from the start helped to run everything smoothly.  It was an absolute pleasure to work with you and I look forward to our next project together!”

Sandra Palega - Exhibition and Display Designer, Production Bureau

Plug in to Exertis' is the channel technology event of the year bursting with technology solutions from the living room to the datacentre. Held at Silverstone Circuit, we went down in April to install 340 of our seats on a large tiered structure that rose from 14" up to 77" in 7" increments.

"Bradley and the entire Steeldeck team provided a professional, efficient and smooth service and we were very happy with the end result."

Robert Fitzsimons - Head of Channel Marketing

In April we headed out to Thamesmead to install this outdoor stage for LIFT, London’s premiere festival of international performance, which will be taking place across major venues and show-specific locations this summer. This particular build was for a performance called "Fly by Night” which will see 1500 pigeons light up the evening sky, soaring over the Thames whilst wearing tiny LEDs. Almost 100 8' x 4' decks were used to put the stage together.

“We had a very short lead-in time on this project, in a difficult site, with many restrictions. Richard, Duncan and everyone at Steeldeck effortlessly dealt with all of this, worked quickly on site, and gave us a perfect platform to build the pigeon coops on! I could not be more pleased with this element of the project.”

Simon MacColl - Production Manager

At the end of March we were at Dock 10 Studios at Media City, Salford for our Manchester Depot’s inaugural outing for BBC Sport Relief 2018. Designed by Rudi Thackray, this build incorporated 3 seating blocks with a 1’6 incremental rise up to 10’6 and cleverly used our stock 4x4 triangles to create these ‘arrowhead’ structures. With a performance stage to match the design. Katie Mountain, the director of our new Manchester depot, deserves a huge amount of credit for managing a tricky and shifting brief.

And a big thank you also to AKW Global Logistics who seamlessly provided trucking to a tight and complex schedule and to Crewsaders who were brilliant as ever.

"What a great job your team has done for us up here this week. The star of the show is obviously Katie, she has delivered a great product and all so easily."

Rudi Thackray, Production Design

Studio Lambert is an independent television production company based in London and Los Angeles. They asked us to come into The London Studios to install this seating block for one of their new shows. The steps went up in 1 foot increments to 6 foot and were then finished with black ply fascia. The back and sides of the structure were fitted with black molton for a neat finish.

"I would like to say a massive thank you to your team for all your work. The install, lead by Bradley and with an army of riggers, was incredibly smooth and quick. I very much look forward to engaging your services on the next project."

Joshua Grace, Production Designer

Brighton Dome is one of the south coast’s premier multi-arts venues and each year they produce over 600 events spanning music, theatre, dance, comedy, literature, spoken word, visual arts, film, digital and more. Earlier in the year we worked alongside Andy for the Brighton Festival but this time we were called in to build a disabled viewing platform for the venue’s string of December shows and performances. Here you can see that we have installed the platform with 800mm balustrade guardrails to allow for the best possible sightlines.

“My Front of House team are thrilled with the viewing platform you guys put in. Thanks to you and the team for your hard work"

Andrew Furneaux, Production Manager

This was our fourth time working alongside My Beautiful City for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards and once again it was a great success. For the past 2 years the show has been held at the Old Vic but this year it was at Theatre Royal, Drury lane in Covent Garden. The big winner of 2017 was “The Ferryman” picking up 3 gongs for their outstanding performances at The Royal Court and Gielgud Theatre. Our decks extended out over the house stage and into the auditorium to create a level surface for the awards ceremony itself. The creative production and art direction was provided by MBC.

"I appreciate your efforts during pre-production to make sure everything was in place and the way you managed the job on site was great.
Thanks Katie, you're the best!”

Olly Olsen, Production Manager at MBC

We are no strangers to Womad and Cornbury but this was our first outing to Greenbelt Festival. It started as a Christian music festival in 1974 with only an audience of 1,500 but has grown into a much more inclusive festival attended by around 20,000 people of all faiths. For us summer festivals are usually a matter of building various stages for acts and risers for DJs, however, Greenbelt saw us building a rather large ramp to allow for disabled access over the many levels of the Boughton House grounds. With all three jobs we were working for Judgeday who have over 30 years of experience in delivering and producing live music events and festivals across the country. We look forward to working with them again next year!

“We’ve had a great standard of service from Steeldeck this year.  Katie Mountain has been a pleasure to work with, and very happy with the install/de-rig at Greenbelt Festival, Cornbury and Womad. Thanks again”

Beckie Parsons, Project Manager at Judgeday

Starling Crossing' was created and developed by Umbrellium as part of Direct Line's 'The Smart Crossing' initiative. In short, it is an interactive pedestrian crossing that responds dynamically in real-time to make pedestrians, cyclists and drivers safer and more aware of each other. A crossing for the 21st Century that accounts for streets with more cars, pedestrians and technology. Why starling? STigmergic Adaptive Responsive LearniNG crossing. As you can see from the pictures, Steeldeck built the substructure for the road and it was a great pleasure to be involved in such an innovative project!

"One of the big challenges to delivering the smart crossing was ensuring we had a completely level stage to mount the 660 LED panels and support the weight of moving vehicles weighing up to 2 tonnes. We also had to build a complete and working system in four days, ready for final software testing and the press turning up. After a last minute change of venue, the team from Steeldeck were incredibly responsive. We had the first reccy on the Friday before the load-in and when they moved on site it took them only a few hours to build 225 square meters of completely level stage. Having used Steeldeck products for projects since my teenage years, this was my first time using Steeldeck UK as a full service company. I'll definitely use them again."

Dan Sloane, Technical Director at Umbrellium

This was a very last minute job requiring a great many creative solutions. Working on a feature film set within a festival site, a ramp and platform were needed, allowing a steady-cam operator to make a tracking shot of a quad bike. Due to the last minute timings we were unable to survey the site prior to build and thus had to get creative, relying on sketches from the client and Google Earth. Our next challenge came when we realised we weren’t able to fit our 7.5 tonne truck onsite due to large amounts of British summer rain. Again, using our creative logic and careful liaison with the film crew and festival site, we were able to commission a 4 X 4 trailer with the capacity to carry all equipment to site. We were delighted to hear the client was impressed with our ingenuity and problem solving thus allowing the required tracking shot to be achieved.

It was a great pleasure to work for Atom Events again on this very large private party. We spent 5 days putting together over 1,100 deck for this job and luckily the weather stayed on our side throughout. As you can see, it looked pretty spectacular once everything was done.

“That was all kinds of special. Thank you so much for pulling out all the stops, not rolling your eyes when I changed my mind / added something for the 17th time, the professionalism of what you create, having a total 'can do' attitude throughout the process and just being all round brilliant eggs (large organic and free range eggs that when you get them home they actually hatch. Those types of eggs).”

Tom Freud, Director at Atom Events

Working alongside IMG UK, we were back at Excel London in July to install an auditorium of over 200 seats for the AJ Bell London Triathlon. It’s the largest triathlon in the world and the only one in Central London, taking in some of the city’s iconic landmarks such as the London Eye, Westminster, London Bridge and The O2.

“Steeldeck were great to work with on the AJ Bell London Triathlon this summer. They were quick to send through all required paperwork and drawings, making our planning in the run up to the event a smooth process. During the event weekend, the Steeldeck crew were friendly and professional and we very much look forward to working together in future years.”

Alicia Mackay, Participant Experience Manager at IMG UK

In June we were at the Lambeth Workshop to build a 13 tier stage, which was then clad in wood by William Floyd Maclean Studio and served as a place for visitors to sit and ponder. The occasion was the Royal College of Art’s School of Architecture Graduate Show, where over 700 postgraduate students presented their work, exhibiting design solutions to pressing global problems.

“Time and logistical constraints meant careful planning and clear communication was key in pulling this job off. From early discussions with Cat in the office through to working with the team on site it's always professional and an absolute pleasure to work with Steeldeck.”

William Floyd Maclean

This last minute seating job at the beautiful Kensington Town Hall involved 2 seating blocks with over 250 of our upholstered seats. We were working for Media Services, who are one of the leading event production companies in London.

"The Steeldeck team were amazing with all the last min changes, Big shout out to Richard and Eli for their hard work"

Taz Zebrowski, Project Manager at Media Services

This was our third outing to the annual Brighton Fringe Festival working for Otherplace Brighton, one of the city’s leading venue management and production companies. Labelled the ‘festival within a festival’, with 4 theatres, 2 bars, a market town and a kids area, ‘The Warren’ was the location for our build. Here we installed a tiered stage with around 280 tip-up seats for a month of comedy, theatre, cabaret, music and family shows. Now that sounds like a recipe for some fun!

"There is a level of complexity with this particular project and Steeldeck have the ability and flexibility to design the custom tiered seating and fitted stage that we need."

Joshua Carr, Technical Director at Otherplace Productions Ltd

Bat Out Of Hell The Musical is a new musical of teenage love, youthful rebellion and living the rock n’ roll dream. Steeldeck have been along for the ride every step of the way so far. It all started with a stage at the Territorial Army Centre in London for rehearsals and since then we’ve provided staging for the load-ins and load-outs at the Opera House in Manchester and The Coliseum in London where the show has now been transferred to and is ready for it’s world premiere on 5 June.

“Katie has done another brilliant job - all very good - she is a class act.”

Simon Marlowe, BOOH Ltd

London’s answer to Edinburgh’s fringe” says Time Out and with six weeks of top notch comedy, drama, music, food and film, we’ll surely attest to that. This is certainly not our first venture down into the depths below Waterloo station but we’re not shy of getting a little dirty as it’s always nice to see how the organizers transform this underground labyrinth into an eye-popping art extravaganza.

“At VAULT Festival, we have worked with Steeldeck for 4 years now and couldn't rate them higher. They are setting the standard in the staging industry to which everyone else is trying to catch up to.”

Andy George - Head of production at Heritage Arts Company

Anya Hindmarch presented their new 2017 collection at Lindley Hall for London Fashion Week in February and Inca Productions asked us back to build the staging for perhaps the most ambitious project we have ever worked on in this venue. The show gets bigger and bolder every time and has become one of the most anticipated of fashion week, winning awards and continuing to deliver.  We look forward to whatever may be in store when the next London Fashion week comes around.

"Duncan and the Steeldeck team work tirelessly to build literally the foundation for our shows each season. Always on hand to problem-solve, they really are an integral part of the process."

Rachel Hudson, Producer - Inca Productions

‘Oklahoma!’, written in 1943 after the United states had entered World War II, was forecasted as a guaranteed flop by New York scouts. However, it soon became an enormous box-office hit running to 2,248 performances and is now viewed as a seminal and ground-breaking work of musical theatre. In this instance it was the turn of Westminster School to have a crack at it and we were tasked with transforming their hall in Little Dean’s yard into a first class theatre, all whilst dodging students coming out of classes. We installed 250 seats on a tiered stage reaching as high as 12 ft at the back, and from what we hear, the show was a huge success.

"The seat block was put up and taken down with speed and great care. We were very pleased and would be happy to use you again.”

Paul Mcleish, Technician - Westminster School

The drama department is a very important part of any school and every parent loves the opportunity to watch their kid flourish onstage. Sometimes not all of the eager spectators get the best sightline and so our tiered seating can provide an attractive and comfortable solution ensuring everyone can see clearly. Room size or shape is no issue as we are the only company who can build at a totally bespoke row depth, tier height and row length all at the same time. You should see some of the spaces we manage to cram into!

"I received quite a number of very positive comments from parents regarding the tiered seating and the same from a number of guests too. I hope that we will be able to work together again on future productions.”

Steeldeck have been providing stage hire and tiered seating solutions for over 30 years. We love a challenge and work hard on every project to ensure that our staging and seating is put to its best possible use. Steeldeck is still our primary stage rental solution, but we also offer Litedeck and Revostage, allowing us to adapt to any event. We pride ourselves on great service, and our staff will be on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly from the first phone call to stage disassembly. Give us a call, or enquire online for stage hire prices and to find out how Steeldeck’s stage and seating hire can work for you.
