Steeldeck® is committed to Health & Safety
As part of its ongoing commitment to health and safety Steeldeck® gave its platform specifications to Webb Yates Structural Engineers, www.webbyates.com
Our brief to them was to supply a fully independent set of calculations to analyse the performance of our equipment.
We are pleased to say that Andy Yates, one of the Directors, was happy formally to confirm that:
“The standard 4 leg Steeldeck® 8’ x 4’ platform is designed for an ultimate load of 7.5kN/m2”. (A set of full calculations are available on request).
We have a stock of 6 leg units that will take even greater loads.
Fully compliant for public use
Steeldeck® platforms are possibly the only independently certified plug in leg system that is fully compliant for public use. In the UK all our platforms conform to the IStructE guide for Temporary Demountable Structures requirements for use by the public with a built in safety factor of 1.5 as per the new Eurocode.
Our claims and Webb Yates calculations are supported by the BSI (British Standards Institute) load testing.
Our product is built in British workshops and we have always used British steel to guarantee performance. Having seen multiple failures in foreign-sourced copies we have no intention of compromising this policy. Our clients’ safety takes precedence over profit.
