Steeldeck^® is committed to Safety

As part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety Steeldeck^® gave the specifications for its guardrails to Webb Yates Structural Engineers www.webbyates.com with a brief to supply a fully independent set of calculations to justify our claims for our equipment. Full calculations are available on request.

As with our platforms Andy Yates, www.webbyates.com, was happy to certify all of our guardrails to the different ratings to which we warrant them.

Whilst no specific criteria exist for certain of the media industries, the safety of the public is paramount and we apply the same standards as recommended by the IStructE for temporary grandstands to all our structures for public use.

It is worthy of note that BS6399-1 calls for a rating of 3kN/m in all “Areas susceptible to overcrowding”. Very few products can achieve this rating.
