Festival: Bompas & Parr Pyramid - Big Chill Festival

An Interactive Pyramid at the Big Chill Festival, and an example of the ability of the Steeldeck^® platform to create much more than a stage. Working with Harry Parr to create a truly wondrous festival experience the entrance to the pyramid was through a maze underneath the structure then on up a ladder to the first level which contained a "banana cloud" then on up another ladder to the top for a magnificent view of the site and a slide back down to the bottom.

A clever bracing design worked out in tandem with our structural engineers combined with a strict limit on capacity allowed a lot of artistic flexibility. With the whole structure on the side of a hill it also needed careful anchoring to avoid the possibility of both slippage and toppling.

Concert: Bach Choir @ Westminster Cathedral

For The Bach Choir a stage structure for a choir of 300 over 10 levels with an 18" rise between levels, all set over the top of a variable level existing floor and wall - this contract called for some cunning design. The whole structure needed to be built in one evening with extreme care to avoid marking the floor in any way.

Concert: BBC Electric Proms @ Roundhouse

Due to scheduling issues all work needed to take place overnight. Every artist needed a different stage, and we couldn't start taking down each stage until it was clear. The first build was a three level stage with the lowest section at 4' then 8' and on up to 11' with access from level to level as well as from the floor.
